Subito Mortem

Sudden Death is the Title.

I was driving past this when I thought to grab my camera to snap a pic. One of the thoughts that crossed my mind was, how did this happen? It could literally been anything from a blown tire to an animal running across. Either way the way this accident looked in focus was, whoever left this earth tonight did so in the swiftest of manners. It sucks to see this because the first thought that always crosses your mind is "OMG i hope no one I know is in this!!!" Of course being human I think we made the bright lights to attract attention to the scene as well. We are all wired for violence, just some are afraid to admit it.

Will and his Fire Hammer!!!

So here I was in Grapevine, Tx about to pay rent. Come to find out I beat my landlord to his shop by a full hour. So I drove around the corner and ran smack dab into downtown. I grabbed my camera and started snapping pics.

During my journey I walk up to a blacksmith shop. Much to my surprise I could smell burning metal, someone is working!!! I thought to myself. I step in and a grim older man looks up at me and says hi. I spoke to him for a moment and much to my surprise he agreed to let me shoot some photos.

After the initial shock of a total stranger with a camera wore off. He began to tell me his life story and how he got into blacksmithing. Will was an awesome guy who loves his shop being photographed. For 20 min I forgot why I even came to grapevine. He opened up so much that he told me to walk around the shop and take whatever photos I wanted. All in all this was one of the funnest photoshoots yet! Will this blogs for you!!!

Cracked Gl(ass)

When taking this photo I actually had a poem in mind. It was written by none other than Corey Taylor himself. There is a whole lot of truth in what he has to say. I will spare you the long winded post tonight, but will let Corey do what he does best.

What a skeletal wreck of man this is.
Translucent flesh and feeble bones,
The kind of temple where the whores and villains try to tempt the holistic tomes.
Running rampid with free thought to free form, and the free and clear.
When the matters at hand are shelled out like lint at a
Laundry mat to sift and focus on the bigger, better, now.

We all have a little sin that needs venting,
Virtues for the rending and laws and systems and stems are ripped
From the branches of office, do you know where your post entails?
Do you serve a purpose, or purposely serve?
When in doubt inside your atavistic allure, the value of a summer spent,
And a winter earned.

For the rest of us, there is always Sunday.
The day of the week the reeks of rest, but all we do is catch our breath,
So we can wade naked in the bloody pool, and place our hand on the big, black book.
To watch the knives zigzag between our aching fingers.
A vacation is a countdown, T minus your life and
Counting, time to drag your tongue across the sugar cube,
And hope you get a taste.

What the Fuck is all this for?
What the hell's going on? Shut up!
I can go on and on but lets move on, shall we?

Say, your me, and I'm you, and they all watch the things we do,
And like a smack of spite they threw me down the stairs,
Haven't felt like this in years.

The great magnet of malicious magnanimous refuse, let me go,
And punch me into the dead spout again.
That's where you go when there's no one else around,
It's just you, and there was never anyone to begin with, now was there?
Sanctimonious pretentious dastardly bastards with their thumb on the pulse,
And a finger on the trigger.

Classified my Ass!
That's a Fucking secret, and you know it!
Government is another way to say better than you.
It's like ice but no pick, a murder charge that won't stick,
It's like a whole other world where you can smell the food,
But you can't touch the silverware.
Huh, what luck. Fascism you can vote for.
Humph, isn't that sweet?
And we're all gonna die some day, because that's the American way,
And I've drunk too much, and said too little,
When your gaffer taped in the
Middle, say a prayer, say a face,
Get your self together and see what's happening.

Shut up! Fuck you! Fuck you!

I'm sorry, I could go on and on but
Their times to move on so, remember, you're a wreck, an accident.
Forget the freak, your just nature.
Keep the gun oiled, and the temple cleaned Shit snort,
And blaspheme, let the heads cool, and the engine run.
Because in the end, everything we do, is just everything we've done.

You never heard her coming....

Well here we are, I haven't been able to post the last couple of days due to some problems. Though we are now up and running!!! So here is my post for the day. Stacy ma lady! Is becoming well known in the circles of ghost hunting. So much so that she received a nickname. She is the Para-Ninja!!! Mostly because of her ability to jump to her feet and karate chop a poltergeist in the face. It has been said that she is so silent, that she once snuck up on a Spirit and recorded her EVP before it knew she was there. Then she killed the spirit with her blade and recorded an EVP within an EVP. Crazy I know but it happened haha. There she is folks the Para-Ninja!

Masks, old houses, and Trains

Sorry to the folks who read my blog. I was invited to take a trip to East Texas. I spent all weekend in Jefferson, TX. It was one of the greatest times that I have had in Texas. I got to spend a night in a place called the Cavalier House. Which is delightfully haunted, come to find out Jefferson as a whole is one of the most haunted cities in Texas. So to make up for lost time I will be posting a few photos and explain how and why they were caught :)

This photo above was taken upon arrival at the Cavalier House. We were filming for ghost hunting. While the production crew was getting ready I was taking the time to get some quick shots of the house. This Mardis Gras mask quickly caught my eye. I have yet to get out and enjoy it in Louisiana myself, but after seeing this mask I just may make a trip out!

When I snapped this photo I remember thinking that a conversation about general Lee that may have inspired this lil statue. I saw it and thought that the sculptor may have said something to the effect of "Keep your Pimp hand Strong Mistah Lee" in the southern most baptist voice of course ha!

While snapping this photo, I thought what a curious way to remember the past. Jefferson is marked with some serious history and to go as far as to mark locations that horses used to be tied to, with little horse head posts!

When this car was at the end of the street, I was busy snapping other photos. Stacy flagged me down and said "BABE COME HERE!!! LOOK WHATS COMING!!" I ran over and saw this black beauty rolling down the street. I waited for it to creep by and snapped the pic. The driver even went as far as to wave to me!

This is The Grove. Those with knowledge of the location know that the owner rarely lets folks inside the home. He is quite protective of his home, rightfully so because it just so happens to be extremely haunted. I got the rare opportunity to pa-rouse around inside. Before entering my journey I snapped this photo. Watch out for the black cat he looks mean!

Sometimes the conditions are just right and everything just happens to fall into place for a photo. This was one of those times. The clouds and baby blue sky were just perfect contrast to this little hotel.

General Stores still exist. In fact this one was one of the greatest ones I have ever seen. Jefferson loves to attract tourists. I paid homage with Sepia!

Apparently, bad Ju-Ju makes great breath. The ouija board has always fascinated me, because of the stories they bring out of random people. I saw these in the general store and before my inner self kicked in, I almost bought this. Of course I will never own a ouija board because of the thought of open doors just downright scares me.

Finally!!! This shot was one of my most cherished moments in photography. I heard tha train a comin - As Johnny would say. I heard it come from far off, I actually ran straight up to the tracks and caught this photo. Don't let the pic fool you this train was hauling some serious ass! It was going easily 65 mph. It was going so fast that it blew my hair back as I was taking the photo. It was scary, exhilarating and awesome all at the same time!!!

All in all it was one of the greatest days I have had in Texas to date!!!
Thanks everyone!!!

A Pity for Manners

Tonight my wife Stacy was continuing her training with JAX our pit puppy. We took him in because my bosses living situation did not allow for a pit to live there. After knowing JAX first hand we realized that he was just a big ol baby. We love him very much, and love having him around. Like all puppies he can be a handful at times, but having owned pits before we knew what we were getting ourselves into. Tonight Stacy was teaching JAX how to "SIT" - "LAY DOWN" and "BEHAVE".

Fun times!!!
