The Indian and the Paintbrush

When I was a kid, I used to spend the weekends at my grand parents house. They lived in the country and I can still taste the water from the water hose. I used to ride a bike for what seemed like miles. During the summer months the sides of the roads would be littered with Indian Paintbrushes. To this day they are still my favorite flower. Here is my homage!

Back into the Groove

I am sorry to everyone who reads my blogs. I have been a little wrapped up lately with massive overtime at work. Workin 6am to 7pm yields little to no time for one of my new passions. This weekend I specifically set time aside for some photos. I stopped at the local laundromat and got some pictures.

The popcorn machine takes me back 25 years ago. I remember looking up at my mom washing clothes. She would have the usual sweat on her brow as she folded clothes for a family of then 4. Even though we were not poor by any means money was tight during the 80's for us. Mom always set aside some cash though for popcorn. It was the coolest thing to put money into the machine and watch popcorn fall into the white paper bag!

25 years later that popcorn machine is still making kids happy!

Meeting with the Dead

So today, I was waiting on some paranormal friends to show up to a cemetery. I was going to show them hot spots are for investigating. While waiting on them I decided to pull out Che and grab some cool shots. Here is the baby, bronze cross, sword and the stone, and a Masonic grave.

Dead Air Microphone

I bought this microphone awhile back when I joined forces with Dead Air Radio.
Tonight I took this mic apart and installed an LED to give it a dark and brooding ambiance. I turned out the lights and took a 15sec long exposure. I also threw in a bluish hue to give it a Cult Classic feel to it. I will be using this as my wall paper for Dead Air!

Happy E(ggs)aster!!!

Now that I am grown up, I can actually value the fun of watching our young family running around and searching for Eggs and treats. I spent the day with my family and ate entirely too much barbecue. It was fun hanging out with family members that I don't get to see much these days. Happy Easter to everyone!

Who cleans the cleaners?

I haven't posted much lately due to an recent turn of events, that involved my living room ceiling caving in. After that happened we had to go out and wash some serious clothes for the coming week. We chose this small little laundromat in town. After spending some time there I asked myself "Who cleans the cleaners?" The answer is no one apparently haha.

Here comes the Fog

It wasn't until after I moved into our house, that I realized how much fog our little area gets. Its very cool and yet eerie at the same time. If you stare into fog long enough, your mind will start to play tricks on you and make shapes of things that are not there.....Or are they?

Cool pictures take time

Night time is becoming a fun time to shoot photos for me. I am really starting to love long exposure shots and the eerie type of magic they can bring to a photo. Tonight I stopped at a local small pond called Towne Lake. Enjoy!!!

Interdimensional Comm's

Many people with who'm I deal with, believe that using as simple as a recorder can let you interact with other dimensions out there. Whether this is true or not whose to say. Though during my travels into the paranormal, this recorder has been my trusty side kick. I have recorded some of the strangest conversations with the Sony ICD recorder.

I decided to zoom while taking a photo giving my recorder a mystical look. Fun effect indeed!

I see a world that's out of focus

One of my favorite subjects, is horror movies. One of the things I noticed from watching so many is the use of blurred moments. It makes the scene much more intense than it would normally be in focus. Also film grain adds the mysterious mantra that something bad is about to happen. So here it is folks my Texas Horror Pose! :)

Sparktography

Tonight I wanted to try something fun and new. This is a form of light graffiti. I call it Sparktography. It is really fun and easy to do. The best thing it is relatively cheap to do as well. Who'd a thunk steel wool could do these wonders!!!

1 courthouse 2 outcomes

As I was driving home today, the skies were absolutely beautiful. So many colors going on at once. I was within a mile of home, when I decided to make that stop. Here is the out come. Both of these pictures are 9 shots with varying degrees of contrast and brightness. I used an HDR program to show how a few settings can change the entire mood of the photo.

Humpty Dumpty is back again

This creepy little guy was salvaged a few weeks ago. He was sooo creeeepy looking that I decided to keep him. He now over looks my lawn!

Looking Back

Tonight I was off to grab some food. As I was driving off I noticed a fire behind me glowing brightly. Allow me to interject myself now and explain that it was raining severely at this point. How this fire stayed burning so bright is beyond me. But it was a pretty awesome sight to see.

There Will be a day....

There will be a day when mankind will be forced to wear these daily. If you want to know the dangers that man has done to the earth, go to any big city and find where the run off from that city is. Chances are nothing grows there.

After seeing this gas mask at a local flea market. It had the look and texture that is needed for HDR. The clouds were also perfect for some strange Ambiance. This is one of my new favorites!

Exploding Down the Highway.....

Like a slug from a .45......True Death...... 400 horsepower of maximum performance.

When it comes to cars, few things excite me more than Hot Rods and Rat Rods. I caught this guy riding the lighting in as he brought the thunder with him. This car was a shiny red glimmer when I first saw it. It wasn't long before I could hear the throaty gargle of  4 barrel Holly Caberator rumbling on. As he passed me I could feel the noise of the engine in my chest. It was if this car figured out how to pound each piston like a war drum on a path to destruction. This car "Ate Lightning and Shit Thunder" as they say.

I did everything in my power to snap this shot. I even sped up to momentarily stay ahead of him. Once the shot was taken he rumbled past me. As I saw this demon fading in to the distance ahead, I could smell the hot un-burned fuel. A mix that only those who have been around cars would understand.

To the Guy in the Screaming Bel Air this blog's for you!!!

When an Unstoppable force meets.....

An Immovable object.

This is what happened tonight! It was my first self hosted Blog Talk Radio show. I invited Jeromy Jones of TPI (Texas Paranormal Investigations)and Paranologies. To co host with me. I gotta say it was exciting to have someone in the same direction that I am traveling to help me out. Also it was of no coincidence that I chose Dick Chavez as my first guest. He knows his stuff and is quite an entertaining guy to talk to.

Tonights show covered lots of interesting ground. I gotta say it is like those old lame Heroin commercial would say. "There's no high like your first but you'll die trying!"

It Begins....

When I first started paranormal, I didn't think for a second things would surmise to the empire that we have made. One of the greatest feelings in the world is applying what I know of the unknown and helping people to the best of my ability.

Fellow investigator Clay Coleman took on the greatest task ever and got stickers made for our team. We are in a process that blends scientifics, style, and individualism with the paranormal. The reason we made this logo is because every American is trained to acknowledge RED WHITE and BLUE. With that in mind our logo sticks out from the usual Black sticker with white lettering.

Today 3-15-2012 our stickers hit the streets. We are giving them away. Anywhere from grandmas to punk kids will receive these. This is the oldest form of marketing. Stickers make a Statement. Here is ours.

Bravo Paranormal is a team dedicated to asking the questions that are usually avoided by mainstreamists. We leave a location with not just evidence but even more questions. We do not fear the darkness or what lies within it. We will mix Parapsychology, with known and experimental technology to get one step closer to ripping open the veil that separates the living and the departed.

We Are

Bravo Paranormal

The Victorian Sepia

One of my favorite things is old rusty equipment. But every now and then you will see vintage items so meticulously placed on a night stand somewhere that it deserves to be photographed. When I saw this night stand it was just begging to be recreated in sepia.

DeRezzed

"The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they traveled through the computer. Ships, motorcycles. With the circuits like freeways. I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day... I got in."

This photo was inspired by one of my all time favorite movies "TRON" The original of course :)

Ultraviolet Hour

This is the time of the day when its about to get dark and all your whites are super bright. For photographers this is the magical hour where even the simplest of photos become dramatic masterpieces. I have been real interested in North Tx lately and decided to capture the sun setting in a few locations today. Enjoy!!!

A break in the clouds......

I had a few days off and really wanted to hit the streets. Though it seemed that fate had it in for me as Texas had some of the worst rain this year. I know its only march, but why the weekend I took a few days off. Today there was baby blue skies here in Texas and it hit me. Normally I would go out and take a few photos and be done. Because I was cooped up for a few days today I put in the extra effort to take plenty of photos and really enjoy what I was doing. Here are the best of what I took today! ENJOY :)

Goodbye Blue Sky

This is what I imagine every time I hear that song by Pink Floyd. This photo gives a small chance of hope during a oncoming storm.  I had been hoping for blue skies all day, finally got it right at dusk!

Supertheory of Supereverything

In this pic I tried to recreate what I consider string thoughts. Imagine string theory, and its use in explaining everything from multiple dimensions to how you and I could have been thinking about each other at home then decided to call only to realize you were already there. Its the supertheory of supereverything. We are always trying to figure out how the world works, universe(s) work. Now imagine this. What if somehow I was able to document every thought I had in a single day? Chances are it would be extremely chaotic like a dust cloud full of excited electrons. I considered myself the Nucleus and my rampant thoughts surrounding me like excited electrons. I imagine it would look alot like this. Chances are you have once thought this before already, but what if on the off chance we thought this single moment at the exact same time. Now was that us individually thinking, or existing as 2 energies working as one in the same constantly evolving and expanding in a chaotic manner.

The Monolith of Mckinney

One of my favorite buildings in Mckinney, Tx is the old courthouse. I love architecture that shows what we can do as a species. This building used to be a lot higher and fancier in its day, as it was designed by a frenchman. Now it sits dead center in Downtown Mckinney. This photo is comprised of 12 photos overlayed on top of each other. This is another HDR method! Thanks all who read my blogs!!!

Still a Grasshopper

The more I use my camera, the more comfortable I become with experimenting. I just recently found out how to properly do HDR photogrphy. I have to say, the direction in which you can take a photo is endless. HDR or High Dynamic Range consists of mixing 3 or more photos that have different contrasts or brightness to them. You then mix and highlight the effect you want to keep. It makes your photos extremely significant. You can take a normal day and make it dark and dreary or high contrast blue sky. Below show 2 great examples of just that!

As long as I have a camera, I will forever be learning something new.
